Owakudani (in Japanese: 大涌谷 which means "Great Boiling Valley") is a volcanic valley with ACTIVE sulfur vents and hot springs in Hakone Japan. It is a popular tourist site because of its scenic views, volcanic activity and "Black Eggs", Kuro-tamago (in Japanese: 黒卵 Kuro Tamago which means "black egg") which is a local specialty. The eggs are hard-boiled in the hot springs and turn black... smell slightly sulphuric. Eating the eggs is said to increase longevity... they "say" it adds seven years to your life!
