With it's very discreet and plain looking front, Honjin Hiranoya may not look like much from the outside but inside it is an incredible place. Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan is one of the "Top" Ryokans (Japanese Inn) in Takayama and was awarded with TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice Japan Top 25 in 2015.  It is located in the heart of Takayama "Old Town" and offers beautiful Hot Springs bath, personalized hospitality, and carefully prepared Japanese meals using Hida Beef (Guests can choose to eat in the dining room or in the comfort of their own room).  Guest rooms feature Japanese aesthetics and a relaxing ambiance.  Of course rooms include all the necessities along with a flat-screen TV, an electric kettle and a personal safe. The en suite bathroom comes with a bathtub and free toiletries. Guests can choose to wear one of 800 "Specialty" Yukata robes at an additional charge.
