Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) is one of the most well known places about Japan around the world.  It is a UN World Heritage Site, putting it up there with the Pyramids of Giza, the Statue of Liberty, and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame.  It is a structure / place that is a symbol of the spirit of man.  Not only does it hold religious, spiritual and fascination... it is down right beautiful.  There are many that travel from around the world just to visit Kinkakuji.  It's one thing to see it in a picture... even a thousand times and a totally different to actually be in it's physical presence.  If your destination is Kyoto or you have time for a stop, Kinkakuji is a "Must See" spot.  This is no movie set, it is the real deal... visit, relish and enhance your spirit.
