Ryogoku (in Japanese; Ryo Goku 両国) is famous for its sumo stadium, chanko restaurants, many sumo stables and ther sumo related attractions. It is called "The center of the Sumo World" because Sumo events have been staged in this area since a long time ago. The biggest Sumo stadium in Japan is also found here which is called "Kokugikan" and was built in 1985. It can seat 10,000 spectators and hosts three of the six annual sumo tournaments held during January, May and September. The Edo-Tokyo Museum is also here as well as Yokoamicho Park, a quite little park in the big city.
